Make Sure You Know Christmas Posting Dates

The Royal Mail recently urged people to post their festive card & gifts as early as possible & have now issued a reminder of the final posting dates for Christmas.

Hopefully you’ve been organised and put your order for word art gifts in early, but even if you’ve commissioned a unique piece of art for someone special, don’t forget that you also need to allow some time to post it before Christmas Day, if you won’t be seeing them on 25 December.

The Royal Mail recently urged people to try and post their festive parcels and cards as early as possible, to help the delivery service deal with the rush at this time of the year.

You should also make sure you know the final posting dates to guarantee parcels will turn up in time for Christmas morning. For second class mail, the final posting date is 20 December, while for first class or special delivery parcels it is 21 December.

The latest you can post something is 22 December, and you’ll need to pay for special delivery Saturday guaranteed delivery.

Chief operations officer at the organisation Sue Whalley commented: “As we do every year, we are encouraging people to post and order presents early to help us spread the workload in the run up to Christmas.”

She added that including the correct postcode on your letters and parcels makes the service much more efficient as well, and urged people to check these before sending things in the mail.

If you are planning to buy personalised gifts this year, you need to get a move on, as these can take time to produce. Last month, Stylenest pointed out that getting someone a personalised gift shows that you’ve put real thought into what you’ve purchased, as well as making the present more memorable for the person who receives it.
